185 days! That's the number of days that children are out of school every year.
That's why 10 afterschool programs have come together to form an Afterschool Collaborative. They're focused on improving out-of-school programming and documenting the impact afterschool learning has on young people's school success.
These pioneer programs, spread across 17 sites, are particularly focused on creating enriching and fun learning opportunities for those children whose families can't afford to pay for expensive camps, music lessons and other activities that keep children learning out of school.
For the first time in Montgomery County's history, afterschool programs are learning from each other and using common assessments that track children's engagement and achievement.
