The economy in Montgomery County and our region is more complex, diverse and demanding than it was just a generation ago.
It's a challenge for our K-12 education system to keep up with new expectations and the ever-changing needs of employers. At the same time, local industries are struggling to find the employees they need to compete.
We can meet these challenges if we help students make informed educational decisions that will prepare them for careers in local industries. When young people succeed, we all benefit.
Business Advisory Council
The Montgomery County ESC Business Advisory Council was formed to address the disconnects between our schools and local employers. Over four months, the Advisory Council participants from industry, education and community organizations developed a plan to foster a more aligned, collaborative approach to supporting students and employers.
